Prize information – Wacom Intuos3 range.

Wacom’s Intuos3 range of professional pen tablets is aimed at digital media professionals and high-level pro-sumers in digital photography, graphic design, 2D/3D design, industrial design and audio/video markets. Combining style with the highest efficiency, Intuos3 provides extended functionality to enhance productivity. Available in four sizes, A6, A5, A5 Wide and A4, the range features Wacom’s patented ‘Penabled’ technology.

The most significant features of the range are the integrated ExpressKeys and Touch Strips. The ExpressKeys are two fourbutton keypads that are pre-configured with frequently used modifier keys. The Touch Strip acts like a scroll bar with presets to allow zooming and scrolling in various applications including Adobe Photoshop. This provides a convenient way for digital photographers to zoom in and out of pictures while working with the pen on the image without interruption. With the ExpressKeys and Touch Strips situated on the left and right side of the tablet’s active area, users can directly access functions such as pan and zoom, cut, copy, paste and undo at the touch of a fingertip, speeding up workflow and enhancing productivity.

The Intuos3 range offers a more precise way of working due to the 5,080 dpi resolution. Also provided are 1,024 levels of pressure sensitivity in the pen tip of the Intuos3 Pen and the additional pens that are available, including the Intuos3 Airbrush and Intuos3 Art Marker.

The Intuos3 Grip Pen has changeable pen nibs, including the Stroke and Felt Pen nib. The Stroke Pen nib is able to convey the soft nuances of brushstrokes, while the felt pen nib provides more friction on the tablet, for a more natural feeling. This means a better control when dodging and burning of images. The Wacom Pen also raises the level of productivity due to complex masking and knock-outs being carried out more precisely than with a traditional mouse.
